LOUISIANA SPLASH AND WATER SAFETY

OUR PURPOSE AND MISSION: TO PROVIDE ACCESSIBILITY TO SWIMMING LESSONS, WATER SAFETY, AND HEALTH PROGRAMS TO ANY AND ALL INDIVIDUALS REGARDLESS OF AGE, RACE, GENDER, ABILITY, CAPABILITY, OR FINANCIAL STATUS.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, drowning is the second leading cause of death to children under age five, after motor vehicle deaths. Statistics show 350 children under the age of 5 drown in pools every year and another 2,600 children are treated for near-drownings.

WATER SAFETY SAVES LIVES!

The benefits of swimming are endless, and your child should learn to swim as early as possible. Once your child knows how to swim at a young age, this skill is forever with them. In their later years, their longevity and quality of life will be enhanced by swimming.

SWIMMING – OFFERS ADULTS A GREAT WAY TO TO EXERCISE

Did you know that swimming offers 12 to 14 percent more resistance training than life on land? Swimming involves different strokes and helps to work out different muscle groups.

According to the CDC, water exercising helps to decrease disability and aids in the quality of life in older adults. Since swimming is a low-impact sport, this makes it a safe option for exercise, rather than risking a fall while biking or running. Swimming feels good on joints and will boost one’s mood at the same time.

Children’s Swimming Lessons

Children love to play in water and we want to teach them how to be safe. At Louisiana Splash and Water Safety, we introduce children of all ages to the joy of swimming through positive encouragement and reinforcement. Through this process we teach your child how to swim safely, how to get in and out of the pool safely, proper breath control and more. We make lessons fun and rewarding!

Water Aerobics

Low impact water exercise is a great way to achieve a well-balanced water workout. You’ll do shallow water routines that increase your cardiovascular endurance along with deep water routines that will strengthen your muscles and improve your coordination.

Adult and First Responder Swimming Lessons

Even good swimmers are easily overcome by swift-moving water. In the aftermath of a flood, workers may be involved in a variety of response and recovery operations. Anytime workers are exposed to moving water, their chances for accidental drowning increase. At Louisiana Splash and Water Safety, we teach First Responders techniques that help them save lives while not endangering their own life.
